The Supreme Court of Justice (SCJ) and the Academy of Sciences of the Dominican Republic published the books "El Referimiento Laboral: Doctrina, Legislación y Jurisprudencia 1998-2021; and "Estudios de Derecho Constitucional del Trabajo", authored by Justice Manuel Ramón Herrera Carbuccia, First Substitute of the President and judge of the Third Chamber of the high court.
The activity, which took place in the Auditorium of the Judicial Power, was headed by Justice Luis Henry Molina Peña, president of the Supreme Court of Justice and of the Judicial Power Council, and was attended by former presidents of the SCJ, Jorge Subero Isa and Mariano Germán Mejía.
Carbuccia re acknowledged that the constitutional jurisprudence has made a recomposition of the labor contract, necessarily forcing it to a new vision of the social State. "These books have to do with the consolidation of the State, social rights and the constitutional system," emphasized Justice Carbuccia.
In the same vein, Justice Luis Henry Molina described Judge Herrera Carbuccia as a very deserving jurist and a man devoted to the academic study and practice of labor law, adding that the texts he circulates are essential to enrich legal doctrine, contemporary labor law, the courts and academia.
The first book was prefaced by former presidents of the Supreme Court of Justice, Justices Jorge Subero Isa and Mariano Germán Mejía; and the second by former Vice President of the Republic, Rafael Alburquerque; Justice Milton Ray Guevara, president of the Constitutional Court; and by constitutional lawyer Eduardo Jorge Prats.
Dr. Subero Isa said that the work on the referral reflects the expansive nature that is proven through a praetorian jurisprudence, applying the labor principles of the primacy of truth and the principles of social and constitutional philosophy.
Also at the head table were the Minister of Labor, Miguel De Camps, and the President of the Academy of Sciences, Luis Scheker Ortiz. Scheker Ortiz.
Also present were judges of the Supreme Court of Justice, members of the Council of the Judiciary, magistrates from different courts and the High Courts, jurists, academics, lawyers, law students and special guests.
