The meeting also addressed the experience of the Spanish judicial system in the use of technology in judicial services, at a time when the Dominican Republic will implement digitization, following the approval of the Law on the Use of Digital Media and its regulations.
MADRID, Spain. - The president of the Supreme Court of Justice (SCJ) and of the Judicial Power Council, Luis Henry Molina Peña, held an institutional meeting in Madrid with the Minister of Justice of Spain, Pilar Llop, in which they discussed matters of common interest in the field of Justice between both nations.
The visit to Minister Llop was part of the agenda of the Judicial Power commission in Spain, formed by the president of the SCJ, Justice Samuel Arias Arzeno and Councilor Bionni Zayas, within the framework of the preparatory meeting of the World Jurists Association (WJA), where the details of the 28th edition of the World Congress of Law, to be held in New York in July of this year, were presented.
At the meeting, Molina Peña and Llop discussed common issues and best practices of both justice systems.
Molina Peña shared with the Spanish minister the Strategic Plan Vision Justice 20/24 that the Dominican Judicial Branch applies in order to provide greater integrity, efficiency and quality in judicial services. Likewise, the Justice a Day strategy to guarantee the dignity of the people, focused on achieving 0% delay, 100% access and 100% transparency.
Subsequently, Molina Peña and the judges that complete the delegation met with the team of the General Directorate of Digital Transformation of the Administration of Justice (DGTDAJ), headed by Aitor Cubo, to advance in the Twinning Project, whose objective is to strengthen the services of the Dominican Justice.
During the meeting, it was informed that the DGTDAJ will lead one of the three axes of the project, which has an endowment of one million euros for its two-year financing.
This project is framed within the scope of legal cooperation for development coordinated by the International and Ibero-American Foundation for Public Administration and Policies (FIIAPP), in order to contribute to a Justice a Day that guarantees the dignity of people.
