Judicial Council signs collaboration agreement with the National Superintendency of Public Registries of Peru

About the Judiciary

The agreement seeks to join efforts and promote the exchange of knowledge and experiences on registry issues. 

Cusco, Peru.- The Judicial Power Council (CPJ), through the Real Estate Registry of the Dominican Republic, signed an agreement with the National Superintendence of Public Registries (Sunarp) of Peru, to promote and implement technical, academic and regulatory collaboration programs.

The agreement was signed in the city of Cusco, Peru, within the framework of the XXXIII Meeting of the Latin American Committee of Registry Consultation between the general administrator of the Dominican Real Estate Registry, representing the CPJ, Engineer Jhonattan Toribio Frias, and the national superintendent of the public registries of Peru, Harold M. Tirado Chapoñan. Tirado Chapoñan, were present as witnesses on behalf of the Dominican Judicial Power, Magistrate Modesto Martinez, Counselor of the PJ, Ricardo Noboa, National Director of the Registry of Titles and Ridomil Rojas, National Director of Cadastral Measurements.

"The needs of the users demand us to update and modernize the real estate registry system and strengthen the professionalization in the field to ensure transparency, efficiency and quality of services," said Engineer Jhonattan Toribio Frias.

For his part, the head of Sunarp, Harold M. Tirado Chapoñan, highlighted the need to use new technologies to boost the real estate sector, with the aim of "raising the level of transparency and increasing the degree of legal certainty, as well as avoiding the use of paper and providing greater coverage of services".

This agreement seeks to strengthen ties of friendship and regional collaboration in this area, and is part of the process of transformation of the Dominican Real Estate Registry and seeks to join efforts and promote the exchange of knowledge and experiences on aspects of registration, as well as the implementation and application of new technologies to facilitate real estate transactions without altering legal security in order to contribute to the advancement of cadastral and registry systems, the establishment of land administration and management systems, and the objectives of sustainable development.
